Abstract

The motor practice (motricity, human movement) at school goes far beyond formal teaching-learning moments mediated by a teacher, also developing in an informal, spontaneous, autonomous, and playful environment. From this perspective, an experience report of an extension project is presented, which aimed to diagnose and improve proper and potential spaces for motor practice in municipal schools of different administrative realities in the municipality of Manaus. Methodologically, the space of 8 schools was diagnosed, two of which were chosen to receive an intervention for improving their spaces to stimulate the motor practice of the students. In each school, several paintings of games and sports structures were carried out, maximizing spaces that were little used until then and, thus, stimulating the autonomous motor development of the children, besides brightening up the school environment. Despite difficulties of various natures faced, it was possible to complete the project, which proved to be viable and interesting for future projects and public policies.
