Abstract

The propose of this article is to present the development of university extension activities with Aldeia – Movimento Pró Cultura, Limeira-SP, which develops a reference space in the service, with children and teenagers, of coexistence and strengthening of bonds through cultural activities and social development. In view of the various issues related to the difficulties and lags of students regarding mathematics, in a general way, and interests in studies and contact with technologies, allied to the university's sense of social responsibility, we created the Convivas Project: Mathematics and its Technologies, with the goal of engaging students of School of Technology, Unicamp, in the development of university extension activities. Among the activities carried out in 2022, we present the work involving the Scratch tool as a technology exploration, logical reasoning improvement, in a playful way, through games, in an environment created for knowledge diffusion and exchange. The importance of the Project is justified by its social insertion, whose principles are incorporated to the university's mission, in activities of knowledge dissemination, in a two-way street, of integration of the university and segments of society. As a result of this work, we had a group of college students engaged in the activities, leading each child, from 9 to 12 years old, to develop games using the tool, in an environment rich of information, interaction and social transformation.
